Will's a sell out

Will Young's new single 'Leave Right Now' has sold out in shops across the country, leaving many stores without stock.

Record stores underestimated how popular Will's new single would be as it heads for the number one spot, selling a massive 40,000 copies a day.

HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo said: "A small number of stores were taken a little by surprise and ran out of stock quicker than expected. However, they now have copies of the single back on the shelves to cater to the demand from fans."

With Christmas rapidly approaching, new singles from Gareth Gates, the Cheeky Girls and the Pop Idols will be aiming top knock Will off the top spot.

Will Young enters World Idol

Will Young is set to compete against other international winners of Pop Idol in a special World Idol show.

The show, which will be shown over Christmas, will see Will, the UK winner, compete against nine other singers from across the globe. The show will be judged by representatives from each show and will, of course, feature Simon Cowell.

The first show will be shown by ITV1 on Christmas Day. Then the voting lines will open for a week, and the winner will be announced by hosts Ant and Dec on New Year's Eve.

Will Young enters Pop Idol

Will Young has tried to enter this year's series, but was caught out by a simple mistake.

Will Young, who beat Gareth Gates to win the ITV's Pop Idol competition last year, filled out an application form for the new series.

But judge Nicky Chapman said his form was spotted after he'd used his correct address, according to reports in the The Sun.

"He put music as his interest but got caught out when we saw his address." she said.

No doubt Will Young was eager to confront Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell, who slated his performances last year.
