Kim bows out
Kim
Gee became the latest contestant to bow out of this year's Pop
Idol.
All the contestants had to sing Elton John songs and Kim was
praised by the judges for her vocal performance, but was criticised
for her song choice.
The judges thought her song, 'The One', was too obscure and this
proved to be the case as Kim lost out in the public vote. Speaking
afterwards, she said she was "gutted" to have to leave
the group but was looking forward to seeing her three children
again.
The majority of performances impressed the judging panel, but
favourites Susanne and Mark were both roundly criticised, however,
public support ensured that the pair will get another chance to
impress.
Next week's show will have a 70's theme as all the contestants
get to perform their favourite disco hits.

Marc and Brian leave Pop Idol
Marc
Dillon and Brian Ormond became the latest Pop Idol hopefuls to
have their dream's dashed after Saturday's show.
The Pop Idol contestants had to perform songs which were released
in the year that they were born. The results left the judges decidedly
under whelmed. Michelle, Roxanne and Andy were the only contestants
to receive praise from the beleaguered judging panel.
In typical style, Simon Cowell described the first five performances,
from Marc, Sam, Kim, Chris and Mark, as boring, while Pete took
a swipe at Kim and her choice of "karaoke style" songs.
But it was the public who had the last say. The public vote left
Kim, Marc and Brian languishing in the bottom three places, before
it was revealed that Brian and Marc would be asked to leave the
show.
This Saturday's show will see the contestants performing songs
by Elton John, and only one Pop Idol hopeful will be voted off
the show.

Susanne Manning, survived the wildcard show to join the final

Sam Nixon won the judges' vote and was allowed to enter the

fickle Pop Idol Judges.
Simon Cowell gushed ''Tonight was all about Susanne, she was
head and shoulders above the rest," while an emotional Pete
Waterman added "She's got emotion and you believe it."
