42 year old Brendan Kilkenny, tried to pass himself off as a 26
year old pop hopeful, but was soon halted in his tracks by Simon
Cowell.
Brendan sang a medley of eighties songs including hits from
Rick Castle, Sunnite and Cheney Hawks. However Simon was not amused
and the two traded words as Brendan tried in vain to secure a
place in the next round.
Pop Idol Contestants
Warren Wald
Warren performed Eye of the Tiger to the usually stony faced judges,
but by the end of his rendition the panel were in fits of laughter.
Warren's unique singing style was not enough to see him through
to the next round of Pop Idol, but may have won him a gig in the
next Fro sties advert -if reports are to be believed.
We certainly won't forget Warren in a hurry, but if you do need

Motor mouth Rachel, from Liverpool, made it through to the next
round in a somewhat unconventional fashion.
Her exuberant reaction to the auditioning process convinced
Simon Cowell that it would be a whole lot easier to let her through,
than face the prospect of re-auditioning her.
Pop Idol Contestants
Daniel Cairns
Daniel Cairns, from Oxford, was left gobsmacked during his audition
when Pop Idol judges told him “You will never in a million
years be a pop star.”
However, this just spurred Daniel into writing and releasing
his own single 'How high is my waste band?' A single critising
the show and lampooning Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell.
